Adolescent Community Care
numbers are absorbed into Foster Care numbers. In
relation to the amount of work (or ‘traffic’) involved in the foster care program,
which is of critical importance to the Department (other forms of care are
relatively stable): ‘There
are about 2,200 children in foster care (all types) on any one day in Victoria.
However, about 4,600 go through the foster care and ACP out-of-home care
system each year - not including children and young people in kinship,
residential or permanent care’. |
